The brewery of the first beer of Barcelona. Since 1856.

FÀBRICA MORITZ BARCELONA

Who we are

The Fàbrica Moritz Barcelona is the origin of all our history. A space where today we brew beer in the center of the city just like Louis Moritz did in 1864 (well, with a more modern vibe).

But it is not only a brewery where you can enjoy varied tastings, it is also a restaurant/brewery – our chef is Jordi Vilà, Michelin star (not a joke) -, a store where you can find the most beer accessories, bread, books and everything. unpasteurized Moritz Fresca varieties to enjoy at home.

Oh, we also have some rooms where we host events of all kinds: concerts, Beer Yoga sessions, presentations, press conferences…

In short, we are the theme park for beer lovers.

Our story

Louis Moritz inaugurated the Fàbrica Moritz in 1864 after the fall of the walls and settled between what would become the Raval and Eixample neighborhoods. The same place where today you can enjoy fresh beer and some bravas (from here or there, as you prefer).

A curiosity: Louis Moritz, who was not a fool, took advantage of the stones from the wall to build our factory. Later, in 2011, another virtuoso, Jean Nouvell, carried out its restoration, maintaining many historical elements but adapting it to our times and making it accessible to everyone.

If you visit us, don’t miss the ground floor where you can still see some stones from the walls or an air raid shelter (among other surprises that you will only know if you come to see us).

The most beer menu in the world

Gastronomy by Jordi Vilà

We like beer, a lot, but we know that something to snack on is always better. To combine our Moritz with delicious dishes we have Jordi Vilà, Michelin-starred chef, and his team who, in addition to preparing a more than appetizing menu, surprise us every month with suggestions and new dishes according to the season. Bravas from here, from there, “picantó” a la Moritz, croquettes that will leave you speechless or the varied flammkuchen (the Alsatian pizza) are just some of the delicacies that will accompany your Moritz Fresca when you visit us. And, in addition, an important part of Vilà’s offering are dishes made with house beers. If you are a group of 10 people or more you can reserve by writing to us at fabricamoritz@moritz.com.
